The New Orleans Saints lost their first game of the season 18-17 to the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay, Wisconsin. What makes this loss sting is that New Orleans was up 17-0 before the game unraveled.
Also, a major blow was when the Saints lost starting quarterback Derek Carr due to a hard hit. He was replaced by backup Jameis Winston, who couldn’t lead the Saints to score.
Carr was an efficient 13-18 for 103 yards before he was knocked out of the game. Chris Olave had 104 yards on eight receptions.
On the other end of the ball, Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for 259 yards on 44 attempts. He also threw one touchdown and one interception.
The Saints started off the 2023 season with a gutsy win against the Tennessee Titans. Now comes the Carolina Panthers.
