If you love to play basketball, a new and exciting venture sponsored by the City of New Orleans has begun: midnight basketball.
The games are a part of the city’s strategic crime plan administered by the New Orleans Police Department, which will host the Summer Midnight Basketball initiative.
This Community Engagement initiative, which is a New Orleans safety initiative, is open to the public to attend. The games for this season began June 1, 2023 with the city’s kickoff event. This is the third year the games have been going on.
Want to play? You can catch Midnight Basketball games at the KIPP Center Academy at 2514 Third St, New Orleans, LA 70113.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a teen or an adult. The competitive games are open to any age or team as long as you’re eligible to sign up.
Participants can click the link to sign up. Midnight Basketball is an eight-week summer initiative for the entire family. Come out and enjoy a fun community game, while getting resource information too.
Please complete this sign-up form and email it to Sergeant Shannon Brewer at shjones@nola.gov.
