LSU Football Schedule 2022: Times, Dates, Scores, Info (Updated)

LSU lost against the Georgia Bulldogs 50-30 on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, in the SEC Championship Game in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

The Tigers’ starting quarterback Jayden Daniels didn’t finish the SEC Championship Game after he re-injured his leg in the first half. Backup Garrett Nussmeier came out slinging the ball, leading the Tigers (9-4, No. 14 CFP) to three second-half touchdowns.

LSU was playing for the SEC title, but not the College Football Playoff berth, an opportunity it lost the previous week.

That game largely shaped who would and wouldn’t (LSU) be in the College Football Playoff although some losses on Dec. 3 shook things up further.

After the game, LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly told the media that he was proud of the effort his team displayed in a game where few things went right.

if you can’t make it to the game, you can watch the LSU Tigers for free.

LSU and first-year head coach Brian Kelly have a lot to prove down there in Baton Rouge. The good news is that the home games on the schedule break the right way and by judging from their draft class, the Tigers are up for the task.

How the 2022 season will go has a lot to go with the signal caller. Kelly is ready to exploit defenses like he did in Notre Dame, but of course, he has even more toys to play with.

Week 1: LSU 23 Florida State 24

Florida State held on to beat LSU after the Tigers missed the tying extra point. It was a game filled with mistakes from the Bayou Bengals, including two muffed points.

Even with all that went against them, transfer signal caller Jayden Daniels put together a nice enough game to give the Tigers a chance in overtime, but the Tigers’ special teams cost them the win.

Week 2: LSU 65 Southern 17

The two college teams in Baton Rouge joined together for a memorable night. While the game was over in the first five minutes, the excitement lasted all night long.

Week 3: LSU 31, Mississippi State 16

It was a game of two halves down in Baton Rouge: Hail State jumped out to a 16-point lead over the Fighting Tigers, but in the fourth quarter, LSU began to get rolling, especially on offense. Led by quarter Jayden Daniels, LSU scored 21 points to take the game out of reach.

Here are some highlights:

Week 4: LSU 38, New Mexico 0

The Tigers overwhelmed the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, September 24, 2022, behind its defensive front, which constantly terrorized Lobos quarterback Miles Kendrick.

Here are some highlights:

Week 5: LSU 21, Auburn 17

The LSU Fighting Tigers opened SEC play with a gutsy 21-17 win against Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers won it on the strength of its stifling defense.

Week 6: Tennessee 40, LSU 13

Tennessee proved to be too much for the LSU Tigers, as the Volunteer offense consistently moved the ball up and down the field. It was ugly in Death Valley. May the Tigers remember the sting of Saturday, Oct 8, 2022.

Here are the highlights:

Week 7: LSU 45, Florida 35

The Tigers got back on the winning track with a resounding double-digit victory over the SEC East rivals, the Florida Gators. The 45-35 win marked quarterback Jayden Daniels’ best game as an LSU Tiger.

Week 8: LSU 45, Ole Miss 20

The Tigers got back to their winning ways with a convincing 45-20 win over the previously undefeated Ole Miss Rebels. The Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 win marked quarterback Jayden Daniels’ best game as an LSU Tiger. Here are the highlights:

Week 10: LSU 32, Alabama 31

The Tigers got their biggest win of the season after defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide in ovetime 32-31 on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022.

The win marked quarterback Jayden Daniels’ best game as an LSU Tiger.

Week 11: LSU 41, UAB 10

LSU started off a bit timid but slowly cooked a determined UAB team on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022. LSU’s 41-10 victory over the Blazers secured them a nine-win season and put them in the driver’s seat for a pathway to the College Football Playoff.

Week 12: Texas A&M 38, LSU 23

The Tigers got the biggest letdown of their season after falling to the Texas A&M Aggies 38-23 on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 in College Station.

The No. 5 ranked Tigers looked lethargic for most of the game and failed to capitalize on the few opportunities it had.

After the game, which likely stopped No.5 ranked LSU a chance at a 10-win season, Coach Brian Kelly said that his team played flat and “just didn’t have it.”

Interestingly, quarterback Jayden Daniels’ reverted to his early season form and rarely tested the Aggie secondary. He also appeared to suffer at least two leg injuries in the game, but continued to play until the end. LSU now limps into the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

SEC Championship Game: Georgia 50, LSU 30

LSU lost against the Georgia Bulldogs 50-30 on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, in the SEC Championship Game in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

The Tigers’ starting quarterback Jayden Daniels didn’t finish the SEC Championship Game after he re-injured his leg in the first half. Backup Garrett Nussmeier came out slinging the ball, leading the Tigers (9-4, No. 14 CFP) to three second-half touchdowns.

Final Word

The Tigers begin the 2022 season with a new head coach and a clean slate to right the ship after two consecutive sub-par seasons. There wil also be a new quarterback not named Miles Brennan.

LSU will need to avoid the injury bug and benefit from some fortune to place high in the SEC West, the toughest conference in America. They have a lot going for them, including 100,000+ rabid fans at Tiger Stadium.
