Where To Get A Booster Shot In New Orleans

If you’re vaccinated against COVID-19, it may be time for you to get a booster shot. There are many places in New Orleans where you can get the shot to protect you against coronavirus.


U.S. health officials have recommended that all Americans already vaccinated from either the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson shot get booster shots.

When Should You Get A COVID Booster Shot?

For individuals who have received a Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at six months or more after their initial two-dose series:

Booster shots are also recommended for people 18 and older who had a Johnson & Johnson vaccine two or more months ago, according to the DPH.

What Places Offer The COVID Booster Shot In New Orleans?

CVS

CVS Health announced that select CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations will begin offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster shot to eligible populations. 

Walmart

At your local Walmart, COVID-19 booster shots could be available. Call the store location closest to you to make sure.

Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club is another place you can go to be the booster shot to fight against COVID. Go to walmart.com/COVIDvaccine and samsclub.com/covid to learn more. 

Kroger

Select Kroger locations are also offering the booster shot. You can schedule your booster shot appointment here.

Walgreens

At Walgreens pharmacy, you can make an appointment for a COVID-19 booster shot. It can be scheduled through Walgreens.com/ScheduleVaccine by calling 1-800-Walgreens or by calling a local Walgreens store.

Where To Find Immunization Locations

You can go to vaccines.gov to find some of the thousands of places around the country where you can get a shot.

Pfizer, Moderna and J&J shots are all FDA-approved, but if you have any questions or concerns, make sure to consult with their health care provider or pharmacist.

According to the CDC, a plan that was recently announced calls for  COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for all Americans. CDC’s independent advisory committee, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, continue to meet about the use of COVID-19 vaccines.
