The NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center recently issued an update that forecasts an above-normal Atlantic hurricane season but have tweaked the likelihood down to 60% from 60% in May 2022.
“We’re just getting into the peak months of August through October for hurricane development, and we anticipate that more storms are on the way,” said NOAA Administrator Rick Spinrad, Ph.D. “NOAA stands ready to deliver timely and accurate forecasts and warnings to help communities prepare in advance of approaching storms.”

The brewery — Saint X — and a barbecue eatery called Devil Moon BBQ will share a kitchen in the Odeon South Market building. The businesses are the handiwork of Shannon Bingham, who also runs the kitchen at St. Roch Market food, his pop-ups Buttermilk and Emmylou’s BBQ.

The LSU Fighting Tigers made too many mistakes to overcome in their opening loss to the Florida State Seminoles, 24-23. The game, played before more than 80,000 fans at Caesars Super Dome in New Orleans, featured two marquee teams on the national scene.
First-year LSU coach Brian Kelly named Jayden Daniels the starter for quarterback just before kickoff on Sunday night.
